Founded in 1990, Retro51 set out on a mission to bring joy to writing through meaningful design. Now, 35 years later, we’re celebrating this milestone and honoring our legacy of craftsmanship and creativity.
The Tornado™ rollerball pen has long been the cornerstone of the Retro51 collection—beloved for its smooth writing experience, timeless shape, and collectibility. In celebration for our 35th anniversary, we collaborated with Jonathon Brooks of the Carolina Pen Company.
This anniversary design features a hand-mixed acrylic of swirling jade, shimmering blue, and golden flakes—paying tribute to both our brand colors and our journey so far. The marbled finish ensures no two pens are alike, and the polished barrel catches the light with every twist. Only 351 rollerballs were made, each packaged in a commemorative tube.
